For the technically minded, all photographs were taken on a Rollieflex twin lens reflex camera using 120 medium format Kodak Tri-X Pan or Ilford HP3 film.
Films were developed at the newspaper’s own darkrooms, and because pictures were for news use, they were rush processed – sometimes not properly washed (critical for archival storage).
Although most of the negatives are perfectly fine, some are starting to show signs of degradation – which in turn shows up as imperfections in some of the photographs.
Any imperfections will be noted on picture descriptions.
Photographs for sale:
All photographs are hand printed on glossy or matt Black & White silver-halide photographic paper to the highest standards directly from the original camera negatives.
Please be assured, they have been printed optically using traditional laboratory methods in a professional darkroom by a skilled technician.
They’ve not entered a ‘digital environment’ at any stage of production or been retouched. However, some prints may be ‘spotted’ to reduce physical marks on the film.
A limited print run of only 150 will be made from each negative and a signed ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ from the photographer will be supplied with all prints.
